In the upper school, home learning is sent home weekly on a Friday. Activities are personalised and tailored to the needs of individual students. Home learning activities can link to specific curriculum topics or may be activities that are designed for students to develop their independence and life skills.
Home learning can be sent home via our remote learning platform ‘Evidence for Learning’ which provides parents and carers with the option to upload photos of their child’s learning to their unique portal and view feedback from the class teacher. In other instances, it may be more appropriate to send home physical resources which can be returned to school the following week.
At Pond Meadow, we recognise that due to their Special Educational Needs (SEN), some students may find it difficult to engage with learning outside of the school environment. While we encourage all parents and carers to support their child with any home learning they receive, we do not want to place any undue pressure on students and their families. Class teachers will work with parents and carers to adapt the home learning offer for individual students who find it challenging to engage with tasks, however we realise that this may not always be possible.
