Pond Meadow Outreach Program: Teaching the Way Pupils Learn

At Pond Meadow, we believe that every learner deserves to be seen, understood, and supported. Our outreach program, “Teaching the Way Pupils Learn”, is designed to build capacity in mainstream schools, equipping staff with practical strategies, knowledge, and confidence to create inclusive, supportive classrooms where every pupil can thrive.

We don’t just provide advice, we walk the walk with you. Our team has experience teaching neurodiverse learners and understands the challenges this can bring in mainstream settings. That’s why we are passionate about partnering with schools, offering specific training, collaborative school visits, immersive observation opportunities, and ongoing support to ensure inclusion is practical, effective, and sustainable.

Why This Matters

The need for systemic change is urgent. Research shows that 40% of pupils with SEN feel unsupported in school, compared to just 14% of their non-SEN peers. For autistic learners, 74% report that their school placement does not fully meet their needs, with many lacking access to a quiet space or a trusted adult for support.

These statistics highlight a significant gap between the support neurodiverse learners require and what is often available in mainstream schools. Our outreach program is designed to bridge this gap, helping schools ensure that all learners have access to the structure, strategies, and understanding they need to succeed.

How Our Program Works

  • Purposeful Training & Support: We offer a range of training topics for staff with the option for follow-up meetings to monitor impact and plan next steps. In addition, we provide packages to support schools in setting up specialist classroom spaces, regulation areas, and sensory circuits, helping staff implement practical strategies and create environments where all pupils can thrive.

  • Immersive Observation Opportunities with our inclusive tour at Pond Meadow/ St Andrews: Spend time in our classrooms learning from educators with hands-on experience supporting neurodiverse learners.

  • Comprehensive Provision Packages: Support for setting up specialist classroom spaces, regulation areas, and sensory circuits, including training for staff on how to use these effectively, with follow-up sessions to monitor impact and ensure that every element is benefiting students as much as possible.

  • Ongoing Support: Access coaching, feedback, and advice to ensure lasting impact across your school.

  • Alignment with Ofsted Priorities: The new Ofsted framework emphasises the quality of education, inclusion, and meeting the needs of all pupils. Our program supports schools to demonstrate impact, improve practice, and build learning environments where every pupil feels seen, supported, and able to achieve.

Our Promise

We don’t just share theory, we work alongside your staff, offering practical, evidence-based solutions that can be implemented in everyday teaching. By partnering with us, your school can create inclusive, empowering classrooms that help every learner thrive.
