Music - blog post image

We have had an exciting and positive start to specialist music sessions this term and Laura and I have loved teaching across the school and getting to know classes! Our whole school topic has been 'Dynamics' and we have enjoyed exploring sounds and instruments to play loudly and softly.

The younger classes have learnt a new song 'Bang, tap and stop' and are getting really good at stopping at the right time and responding to symbols to play loudly or quietly. The older classes have been music detectives and have loved finding out about different sounds, and creating their own musical sequences using loud and soft and percussion instruments. They have all had lots of fun with various music warm ups on the interactive screen as well as lots of live performing and an introduction to a variety of instruments. With Sally on her viola and Laura on her ukulele, music life has been buzzing and the pupils have responded brilliantly, from week to week.

Well done to all the pupils who have embraced this new session and have done lots to be very proud of already!
